If you're looking for a mix that is on the shorter side and want to plant in an area that can hold some moisture, then our Sedge Meadow Mix is for you! Sedges are shorter growing grass-like species that are typically found in stream side and wet meadow areas. Since this mix is mostly sedges, the overall look will be "green", but we've added in a few wildflowers for color and attracting wildlife.  This mix will need to be planted in areas that receive at least six hours of sunlight a day. Finished heights on this mix will be about two to five feet.

Some things to remember:

This mix will need at least three growing seasons to fully establish. Germination typically occurs the first growing season, but the plants will need some time to reach full maturity.

These species will provide an overall "green" look. If you're looking for something more colorful, check out some of our other Wet Soil Native Seed Mixes.

Plant this close to ponds to attract wildlife. Waterfowl and song birds have been known to eat the seed heads.

Broadcast seeding is the process of sowing seed by hand. The seeds are sprinkled into the soil and can be lightly raked in to ensure germination.
