Root structures on native grasses can go as deep as 10 feet making this mix perfect for situations where erosion control and soil stabilization are needed at a lower cost compared to some of our other mixes. This contains both cool season grasses, which emerge early in the growing season, and native warm season grasses, which reach their finished height and peak color in late summer into early fall.
Plant this mix in areas where a low maintenance native grass mix is desired, as a means of turf replacement or as wildlife habitat for deer and turkey.
Some things to remember:
This mix of native cool and warm season grasses will take 2 to 3 growing seasons to fully establish. Finished heights will be approximately 5 to 7 feet.
These native grasses will need at least 4 to 6 hours of sunlight a day and will grow in a wide range of soils, including dry, well-drained and clay soils.
There are no wildflowers in this mix. For tall native wildflowers and grasses, check out our Native Tall Grass and Wildflower Seed Mix.
