This perennial warm season grass has many uses including erosion control, restoration and wildlife habitat for game birds, song birds and small mammals. Prairie Cordgrass should be seeded as early in the spring as possible. Native seed drills are the best method for planting, but if broadcasted, make sure it is tracked in as much as possible.
This grass prefers full sun, and the seedlings are not shade tolerant, but they do develop rapidly.
