Enjoy bird watching in your yard all year long! Our Song Bird mix was created for birders and non-birders alike. The native grass and wildflower species in this mix were selected to provide seed sources for songbirds during the fall migration and into early winter. Birds not only eat the seeds, but they redistribute them later as they fly along helping to introduce these native species back into the landscape. Some of the species in this mix get pretty tall ( 5 to 7 feet), but you'll often find birds perched on the tops of the plants. This mix will need at least 6 hours of sunlight a day.
Some things to remember:
This mix of native grasses and wildflowers will take up to three growing seasons to fully establish. We've added Partridge Pea and Plains Coreopsis to this mix to provide some first year color.
Leave this mix standing all fall and winter long. Birds will continue to snack on the seeds left on the seed heads and it provides habitat for other wildlife.
