Purple Prairie Clover is an essential native wildflower if you're a beekeeper or creating your own pocket prairie. It grows on the shorter side (typically 1 to 3 feet) so it works well planted on its own in garden beds or look for it in some of our shorter growing native seed mixes like Native Short Grass and Wildflower Seed Mix and "I Have Clay Soil" Seed Mix.

Found in prairies, road right of ways and open areas. A great plant for wildlife food and habitat. Fixes nitrogen into the soil.

How To Plant Purple Prairie Clover Seeds:

Direct sow seeds into prepared soil in late fall once soil temps are below 50 degrees (usually mid to late November). Can also be planted in winter during natural freeze/thaw cycles and early spring. Plant shallow, no deeper than 1/8 to 1/4 inch deep and lightly rake to work seed in. Plant in full sun. Can take 3 growing seasons to fully establish.
